  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 28 oz canned tomato sauce
  • 3 cloves fresh garlic (minced)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 15 oz ricotta cheese
  • 4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent.
  2. Increase heat slightly and add ground beef. Cook until browned; drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce along with oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with eggs, salt, pepper, and half the Parmesan until smooth.
  5. In a baking dish, layer half the meat sauce first, then no-boil noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and half the mozzarella. Repeat layers.
  6. Top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan; cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly.
